The story behind the artist
William Morris was born on 24 March 1834 in Walthamstow, near London. In 1861, he started the firm Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. with friends like Rossetti and Burne-Jones. The firm became known for its wallpaper and patterned fabrics, many of which are still sold today. Morris continued to create, design, and inspire until he passed away in 1896 at the age of 62.
